ASM G-2 Noise levels??
I was told that a ASM G-1X would be too small for a 120 gallon tank with 10 fish 2 anemones and 3-4 small pieces of soft coral and a 10-20 gallon sump.
I was also told to have the overflow box feed the skimmer then into the Wet-Dry filter so the skimmer might sit on a box outside my stand so that the output pipe is level with the input of the Wet-Dry filter. I'm looking into changing the Wet-Dry into a fuge, so please don't say to get rid of the Wet-Dry. I got that. That doesn't help at this point. How are the noise levels of the Sedra 3500 pump inside a compartment surrounded by water?

I've had two different Sedra 3500 pumps on my ASM G-2 Skimmer and the pumps don't make any noise. My skimmer is located in a 20 gallon sump with about 7" of water. I don't have a recirculation mod, so my Sedra pulls the water in. No direct feed from my overflows on my setup.

I've had a G2 for 4 years with a couple of Sedra 3500 pumps - very quiet and smooth operation. Skimmer works well, except for the noise...
Its the air return for the skimmer that makes all the sucking noise. Any help with that problem would be very appreciated! |
