Detritus, Cyno on fuge sandbed, ok to siphon out?

So I got my fuge online about 1 month ago. I added a bag of copepods and they are doing wonderful, all kinds of bugs in my fuge! My flow is really slow and on top of the sand bed cyno is growing. There is also a lot of detritus (probably dead pods) on top of the sand.

Would I be ok siphoning my sand bed with my python water change kit? This would completely disturb the sandbed as it would completely tumble the sand as it pulls the crap out. The sandbed is only about 2" deep. I don't want to release sulfur into the water column but I think I will be ok since the sandbed is only 2" deep and only online for a month but I just want to make sure before disturbing the bed.

The sand is Caribsea Aragamax

I also have a really small powerhead laying around, should I put this in the fuge to help with flow to help stunt the growth of the cyno?

I have 2 40lb bags of sand left, would you recommend adding it to the fuge for a DSB or should I fill a bucket and do a RDSB?

Thanks for your help!

I always siphon crap that builds up in my sump and fuge every time I do a cleaning. No sense in leaving extra detritus in your tank. If you keep your sand stirred up on a regular basis you won't get hydrogen sulfide build up. A shallower sand bed to prevent it couldn't hurt either. A RDSB as opposed to one in your tank is a safer option based on the people I've talked to. Less risk and easier to deal with if you have problems.
