sunbrite par38 screw in bulbs
anybody use these?
does anyone know if these are ok for a reeftank, and where to get them? they are $120 apiece since i can't provide the link, google sunbrite par 38 on the site specs are Model name: PAR38-15 Input voltage: AC 110V/50-60HZ Number of LEDs: 15 pcs Color Temp: 3500k,6500K,10000K,16000K,22000K,440NM,470NM,ProPink Power consumption: 16W Dimensions: 120 MM(Length)*125 MM(Diameter) Luminous Flux: 150-1500 LM Angle: 15,30,45,60,90 there is also a 20k ecoxotic same price. any info??

im not sure how well those would grow corals. it says there are 15 LEDs in it and running at 16w. now if all the power was going to the LEDs(which its not the driver is drawing some of that wattage too) the LEDs would be getting 1.1w each but i think 5w for the driver is a pretty safe estimate which would mean 11w going to the LEDs which would be less than 1w per LED which means they arent being driven that hard at all. they also dont list what kind of LED they are even using so we dont know how efficient the LEDs are that is in them. for the price i would go with evils PAR38 bulb which is about the same price with 5 LEDs running at around 3w(each LED is being driven at 950mA if my memory serves me correctly) each with the bulb pulling a total of 21w. you can find these bulbs at www.nanotuners.com

but on the site: **NOTE - 12k lamps are currently OUT OF STOCK (10/20/10). Expected availability to be determined, 2010.* i'd do it, but can't just have the 20k's

if i remember correctly on another site they said they are should be getting more 12ks in in the next couple of weeks but ill go double check right now just to be positive.
also what size tank are you lighting? edit: i just checked and they said they will have them by the end of the year but they are hoping they will get in in the next couple of weeks |

i'd be lighting my 75. how many do you think that'd take. lots of clams. what site is it that you found?
