Question suggestions for 10gal sump/fuge

I have been thinking about uses for my vacant 10 gallon tank. Since I would like to begin expanding my knowledge and what does not yet qualify as a coral collection, I was thinking it would be a good idea to use the 10 gallon to make a sump/fuge. I have a ton of extra live rock and sand that need to go somewhere, and a fuge would be a good place to put some of that. Is there a way to go about this without drilling into what will be the display tank?

There are hang on back overflows that use a siphon the move water from the tank to the sump. People have used them for years and swear by them, others have had floods and swear at them.

If it's possible, get the tank drilled.

I have been using a eshopps overflow for a little while now and have no complaints. they work great and can be removed in the future if you wish to drill. some people like the cpr's but I dont like having to rely on a piece of equipment for my syphon. I have a 20g high tank with 10g sump and it works great. I even have a fuge in the center compartment but the sump is mainly used to get equipment out of site. A pro tip is to get a HOB type of skimmer if you choose to use one to help conserve space. Again, the eshopps skimmer works well and also the aquamedic HOB style works great as well.
