Many flatworms recently appeared

Hi

I recently noticed which must be hundreds of rust colored flat specs in my tank, all over the rocks, sand and lower glass.

I've had my tank up and running for 5 years and just noticed them a couple weeks ago. Not sure if this was a coincendence, but I was treating my tank for dinoflegelets and turned the light off for 3 days. When I turned the lights back on I noticed hundreds of them.

Anyway, I have a few soft corals, mushrooms, zoos, and a few LPS. Are these flatworms harmful to them?

Thanks for your help.

the small brown flat worms can be a nuisance and can really get out of control. They won't eat your corals, but may irritate them if there are enough. They make products like flatworm exit that will kill them. I've used Yellow coris and a melanarus wrasses to keep them under control.
