54 Gallon Stocking List
Hi, I am new to Reef Central and have heard very good things about it so I decided to come and check it out
I have a question on my stocking list on whether it might work or not. Currently I have a 54 Gallon Corner Tank with 45 pound of LR and 90 pounds of LS (3 1/4" deep) I currently have 2 Firefish (red and purple) that I just added at the same time and they seem to be doing fine. I also have a Golden Damsel that has been in there for about a month. My Stocking list I am asking would be: 1 Golden Damsel 2 Firefish 1 Diamond Watchman Goby 1 Occellaris Clownfish 1 Black Saddled Toby Is this too much for this tank? Are they all compatible for each other or should I try and substitute/take out any? Thanks |

To Reef Central I would worry about the toby getting aggressive. Is this the damsel that is in the tank: http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/p...132&pcatid=132

Yes I have heard that the Black Saddled Toby can sometimes be aggressive. And yep looks like the damsel that is in there right now.

I'd probably leave out the toby, mostly because of aggression issues coupled with the tank size. The firefish might have trouble with the damsel, but maybe not.

Well so far the damsel and the firefish have seemed like they barely noticed each other. I think it also helped that the damsel seems like it has set up any territory to defend or be aggressive about. If I were to take out the Toby, would the rest of the stocking list work out fine? Also I'm thinking of taking out the Golden Damsel for personal preferences. (I want a peaceful community tank, no true aggressors)

I think the rest of the likely would be fine together, although damsels can get aggressive. If you took out the damsel and skipped the clown, the toby might work better, if you like that fish.

Ok I'll take that into consideration. I'll go to my LFS to see which fish I prefer. Thank you very much.
