light
recently bought a new light for my 55g which im stoked about, but the only downside to it is the legs dont hinge at all so i have to completley take the light off when i want to do maintanance. i can rig it so i can hang it from the ceiling, but my question is how high above the tank can it be without it taking away from the light that i need? i really want to make it so i dont have to deal with taking the whole thing off the tank everytime i need to do a water change.

Mount it 12 inches over the water, that should give you enough room to work with. Or get a hanging kit, so you can adjust the height as you see fit.
I have 4 AI LED modules that I have mounted 14 inches over the water. Hope this helps, Landon
