low 70s for tank temp...
I am just wondering if anyone runs their tank in the low 70s... I raised the temp in my tank slowly to around 80 and started to see red slime algae grow... I lowered the tank slowly back down to 71 and the algae went away... all my corals open up and it seems not to bother any of them... thanks for any info...

That's a pretty low temp for a reef tank. The preferred range is 76-80 degrees or so. I try to keep mine around 78. http://www.reefkeeping.com/issues/2004-05/rhf/index.php
