Ro/di question

Hi all this has me alittle perplexed. my tds meter reads triple zero, and my d\i has the color changing resin. and it looks like its all used up. Do you change just the resin cartridge even thou the tds meter reads triple zero's? or all three?

thanks Mark

When in doubt, change it out... Are the TDS readings from an inline meter? If you can, try using a freshly calibrated handheld TDS meter to verify the numbers. Check visually if the other filters are dirty and replace if they are. You should usually get around six months of usage out of the sediment and carbon filters.

no need to change any of them yet, color changing DI is just an indicator and IMO shows that it is used up way to fast. as long as your still reading 0 on yout TDS meter then your still fine.

to know when to change the other filters you will need to know the TDS of the source water the TDS before the DI and also helps to know the water pressure.

Don't bother changing anything until your TDS begins to register, then change all cartridges/prefilters at the same time...JMO

Hi all and thanks for the info my tds coming in is 353 and leaves triple zeros. ok good to know I have been changing all three when the color of the resin was all used up, at about 3 months.

thanks again Mark

353 isn't to bad compaired to others I have seen, if your water pressure is about 60psi or more I would just hold off and change all the prefilters every 6 months. the DI change out when you start getting a TDS reading and the membrane can usually last 2-3 years but you will have to monitor that by the TDS after the membrane and before the DI and figure out how much rejection rate your getting
