So after much debate (and a Christmas sale) I finally bit the bullet and ordered a 7 LED 20K bulb (with 80 degree optics) to upgrade the lighting on my 10g nano. The current lighting is a 6500k 65w PC about 3 inches off the water and run 10 hours per day. The current inhabitants include frogspawn, candy cane, zoas, leathers, a chalice frag, birds nest frag. I definitely want to go more down the lps/sps/zoa road.
So my thinking is that I would like to keep the light cycle the same, but start the light higher off the tank and lower it gradually. How high off of the tank would you recommend starting. Has anyone done a similar upgrade and have any advice? On the other hand my fiance has been begging me to upgrade to a 20H and move it into the bedroom...
