Purple Crab ID, please

We are tearing down our 55 and setting up the new 28gal.... found this guy

He's a beautiful deep purple. Have recently had some snowflake clove polyps disappear & my chili pepper/cactus is looking a little beat up. Is he the culprit?

sharp pointy claws... SUMP TIME! sorry, not a real ID but the only "safe" crabs are the blunt algae eater claws and being crabs even those I don't trust. The only crabs I have ever trusted are porciline (spelled wrong I know) as they are filter feeders.

I don't know what kind of crab it is, but if you don't want it I bet someone else in your area would (for their fuge). It's a pretty cool looking crab!

Question no ideas?

We are moving everything to a 28gNano, so no sump... I am supposed to be delivering the 2 other tanks today, so I really need to shut them down...
Still unsure of who this little guy is and whether or not he is reef safe and ok for the new tank...

Anybody? please help

He is NOT reef safe as they've said above. Look at his claws and he has a large round body. I bet he'll grow more than that. With that being said, no crab is reef safe...not even hermit! They are all opportunists and if they see an opportunity they'll take it.

I don't know what it is, but there is no way I would put it in my reef tank. Better safe than sorry IMO.

Not sure what it is, but it doesn't have the right shape or markings to be the shore crab.
