Would a Blue Jaw Trigger pick at/eat my derasa clam and corals?

I have a blue jaw and had a crosshatch in with my clams with no issues. I have watched a Niger and a Huma destroy clams in my fowlr (food clams but clams all the same) and it was a feeding frenzy

They generally are fine, being planktivores- but should they decide to have a go at the clam-it would not be pretty. Kind of the pit bull thing- great gentle dogs in the right situation- but the ability is there to do great damage if things go south,

Man this is a hard decision, I love my clam, but would also love to have a blue jaw.

I had a Blue Jaw and he never touched my clam or corals. He had internal parasites and kept losing weight and I lost him after several months. He did run into a couple of corals and broke them though.

I just had to have the Blue Jaw because I love triggers and always wanted one. As soon as I got it home though I realized he was probably too big for my 72g tank.

I honestly think he will be too big for your 55g. They need lots of swimming space and hiding space. They are very timid at first and the most you'll see of him at first is an eye looking at you through a gap in your rock.

A 55 is not going to make for a happy or healthy blue throat
