Protein Skimmer For A 20 Gallon

I'm looking to invest in a good hang on back protein skimmer for a 20 gallon tank in the 50-75 $ range. I want it to be rated for at least a 55 gallon tank so its double the tank size. I posted it here because noone would responed in the electrical area

There are many options available you're probably not going to find much of anything "good" for under $75. If you can go up to about $100-$150 you'll have more to choose from. I have a 20 gallon long that is filtered solely by a stock Red Sea Prizm skimmer that works sufficiently for that system, but you made need something better if you're planning a fully stocked reef in the tank.

+1, you can check your local RC forum and usually find a great deal on a used skimmer.

Check the local forum & RC's FS section. I got my Octopus 150 Recirc skimmer for just over $100 & a K3 for $20 shipped.

Stay away from the SeaClone. It's a pile of junk.

I know Reef Octopus makes some good HOB skimmers & so does AquaC. I think AquaC's HOB is the Remora.

Although greater than $75 the Reef Octopus BH-100 is a great option.
