DIY fish trap

Hello,
i have a coral beauty that is eating away corals like no tomorrow so i want it out i chased the fish for a few hours with a net could not catch it then tried a clear plastic bag like i have used while i was diving catching lionfish in FL nope the little angel way smarter than a stupid lionfish so now after all the chasing the coral beauty found a cave and every time i come near the tank the coral bauty hides and then peaks his head out and looks for me if im near it hides if not then it goes and roams around for corals.

i would like to see if any of you guys or girls have designs of fish traps im pretty handy.

I a cube out of plexi glass and silicone drilled a bunch of small holes in the sides to let water jn and out and super glued a magfloat on it to keep it off the bottom .
I left one of the sides open with a large hole so they can swim freely in and out .
Then I put some food inside let him get comfortable eating out of it for a day or so the just put a net over the open large hole when he's inside ..
I've used this trick for about a year with different fish .

I got the idea from a forum that a guy used a clear 2 liter bottle with half the top cut off then glued a magfloat it it and used the net trick

I used a plastic store catch cup and made a top out of it with a cd case used zip ties for the hinges and drilled hole in the back to run fishing line in it so i could close door and another hole for a airline so i could put food in it. It works everytime dont feed tank for couple of days if your having trouble getting them in it and when they go in close it I have a pic somewhere with 4 fish in it at once that i caught if i can find it i will post it so you can see the trap

I caught a wrasse with a 2 liter bottle. Cut off the top and invert it into the bottle. You may need to trim the top of the bottle so the opening is a bit larger so the fish can swim in. Bait it with some thawed mysis.

I too tried for weeks to catch the wrasse using the net and a barbless hook, but the fish was way to smart, and eventually very skittish when I came near the tank. It wouldn't go into the trap when I was near the tank, so I left the room for a few minutes and when I came back to check, it was in the trap.

There is no need to make one. For a few bucks you can buy one of these at your LFS. Put some fish food and a few pieces of rock in it as weight so it will sink to the bottom. Use a fishing line to keep the lid open. I caught my sixline wrasse within 2 hours. That fish is so quick it is almost impossible to catch it with a net.
