CPR overflow repair question

The nipple broke in half on my CPR overflow. I have a new one, but not sure on how to affix it. I have some acrylic weld but it looks like the old one was not held in that way. It looks like superglue or something of the sort. I looked around on line and i've read that when they develope an air leak to seal them with superglue.

My long winded question is: which way should I repair the nipple? should I weld it in or just use superglue?
