What to feed percula clown fish

I have had two clown fish for two weeks now and
I have fed them the frozen brine shrimp, they didn't seem to like
this so I got them some Formula Two Marine Pellets they will
eat this if I smash it before I drop it in the water.. The big pieces they
will bite then spit it back out. Question is it to hard or just to big (the pellets
are not that big) would fish flakes do better. What do most of ya feed your clowns.

what size are your fish?

try cyclops and mysis. if you can, get some garlic, entice or selcon and soak the frozen food before feeding to help them get started. clowns are not picky eater, so there has to be some reason they are not eating.

if you gave more details of your tank it would be easier to offer help.

My Ocellaris clowns eat pretty much anything: Rod's Food, Cyclopleeze, Mysis Shrimp, Emerald Entree and I just started Spectrum Marine pellets.

Mine eat everything they see....Formula 1, Formula 2 both flake and Frozen...SFBB frozen brine, emerald entree, marine cuisine, squid, mysis, Spectrum pellets...pieces of krill + silverside...

There has to be something causing them to not eat. Tell us more about your tank.

If they are very small, like inder 1 1/2 inches in length your can try the New Life Spectrum Small Fish pellets. They are much smaller that Formula 2 pellets you are feeding so you most likely will not need to mash them up.

Also, try some mysis, flakes, cyclops. Mine eat everything I throw in the tank.

I used to feed mine flakes, garlic flavored. They loved the stuff, but they will eat anthing I put in the tank. With the diverse fish I have, I have switched to the IO Gel food, marine blend. All my fish love it, and the clowns will even compete with my big tangs for it. I would suggest flakes for you if all you have are the clowns. Flakes are simple, readily available. Make sure to pinch the flakes and dip them in the water before releasing them so they don't just float on top of the water.

When I first got my clowns they kept on spitting the pellets out, but after a few days they started eating them. Just give them some time.
