Need lighting advice.
Hello there people, I need some help on choosing lights, currently I have a 48" fixture over a 75 gal tank, i currently have 2 10,000K and 2 atinics, I believe this is not enough lighting, this is a T5, are there better bulbs for this fixture? Or should I go with a metal halide set-up?

what fixture are you running. You could go to a 6 bulb t5 fixture if yours isn't cutting it.

If you can just add on two more bulbs, you'll be in good business.

I mean on the sides, or retro if you have a canopy. I'm sure you have enough room, you have 18" to work with so you should be able to make something work. I hope!

I meant that you can add two more T5's, not MH. I think all T5 or LED is the way to go. MH work very well, I just can't stand the heat! If only they were cooler...
Is there any way you can figure out what fixture you have, do you mind posting a pic? |

Higher Kelvin won't help output. 10k are pretty good in terms in PAR depending on the brand. As are blue plus and aquablues from ATI. What brand bulbs do you have? I would only buy ATI, Geismann, or KZ. All are fine choices. |
