Too much too fast...What now?

Hey reefers, I've been away for a while....long story. I moved in April of 2010. Tore down and sold or gave away all my tanks and equipment , EXCEPT, my bedside BC8. I moved it and it's water to new place. I sold all the softies in it. All I kept was a 2 year old yellow tale damsel and the LR.He made the move fine. I missed my other tanks but adjusted...I bought a tiny yellow clown goby in July. He did fine. I did almost nothing to this tank except feed prime flakes. If it was lucky if it got a 50% wc every 2 months....and a filter cleaning. also had a small bag of chem pure elite.During this time 2 colonies of zoos randomly started themselves, so I added a couple of srooms. Still not changing water "like I should" but everything looked fine.
Someone gave me a test kit for Christmas. Well on tuesday I saw it and decided to check ph....wrong move. It was below 7.4. I did a 50% (4 gallon) water change and re-checked ph on Wenesday , was still below 7.4. I did a control check on fresh mixed water and it checked out 8.3-8.4. I did another 50% water change. Checked on Thursday a.m. ph now at 7.6. I rushed to the pet store and and picked up a bottle of seachem Reef Buffer. Mixed 1/2 tsp in fresh water and added to tank.....Well this a.m,Friday, my old damsel was dead on bottom and my yellow goby was stuck against the water exit, alive but close to death. Also there was a dead bristelworm on bottom???? The softies look fine. Checked ph , again 7.6-7.8. Did a 50% water change. The goby looks better tonight but still breathing rapidly. No more dead worms. Hermits seem fine. I must have overdosed the reef buffer but the lable stated that overdosing wasn't possible...I now know what happened, I made too big of a change too quickly. It's amazing how our reef inhabitants can adjust to slow changes out of spec conditions. My concern now is what do I do to save the zoos, rics and mushroom in the tank. Today the mushrooms have closed up somewhat.
Temp 78-80
spg 1.23
ph. 7.8
amon. 0
