Show me your refugium...or the bunny gets it.
I'm looking into having a refugium when I get my tank up and running and want to see what everyone elses look like. What do you have in yours? Macro, other critters and fish that don't belong in your DT? deep or shallow sand bed? Why you chose either, pros and cons you thought of. Thanks! Heres mine so far: |

This is my diy refug before instalation under the tank. It holds about 10g. After instalation it has a 3" sand bed with cheto. I run a simple spot grown light on it 24/7.IMG_0261.jpg

LOL!!
You saw my pic at the newbie forum. It's a 20 gal, 4" DSB, with caulerpa. Most people are afraid of caulerpa since it can go "sexual" and cloud the water and seed all over the tank. I started with it, my tangs love it when I dump some of the trimmings into the DT, and they are easy to grow, so I like it. I use DSB because I like the theory behind it, and it is remote and can be taken off line and easily redone if needed ever. I have one electric blue hermit that got banished there because he was bothering my clams. I seeded with live pods, phyto, and some brine shrimp eggs, and when I stick my hand in there to trim the caulerpa, I can feel all kinds of creepy things crawl up my arm. Ugh!
