Question converting corner overflow to beananimal?

I have a 90G with corner overflow and the durso stand pipe.

is it possible the change this design to a Beananimal design? and using the small pipe, normally the return, for the full siphon? and the stand pipe for the emergency pipe?
Would I have to modify the overflow to allow more flow?

beananimal requires 3 overflows, not two.

One full siphon, one durso, and one emergency siphon.

You'd have to drill a third hole, and optimally you'd want all three pipes to be the same diameter.

Thanks Mike!

I thought I saw designs with only 2 pipes. Scrap that idea.

I have seen this done in corner overflows with the 3rd hole drilled in the back panel. It was a pretty tight fit, though.

Converted to a Herbie overflow

So, last weekend I converted my overflow to a Herbie overflow. Super quiet it is. I had to tweak the plumbing a bit to make it totally silent. The emergency line can take the full flow, noisy as heck but it handles it fine.

Next question, has anyone added a filter sock on the return line?

I have the Herbie design. Two 1 1/2 dia drains. One full siphon with a gate valve, the other emergency. I have the gate valve adjusted to where there is just a trickle going down the emergency drain. Dead silent. They both empty into a filter sock in the sump which I change weekly.

Herbie also.

Though my backup is barely a trickle, run filter socks over both drains.

Mine's the same way. Barely a trickle in the emergency line. I have an old filtersock to try with
