Am I Crazy??-- change offset overflow for corner

My 75 all glass has the offset overflow set up like a 65 gallon, with only 4 inches from glass side to the overflow. Not the usual 10-12 inches. Does not sound like much, but with the T5 set up there is a dim to low light section. Also the flow is restricted.

My tank has been set up for 18 months and I just have a dim restricted flow 4inch corner, besides my bulky overflow.

Maybe I will wait till wife thanks the kids overnite and switch it out.
Easier to make that change than sneak in a 120 or 125 gallon tank.

Crazy. Really is VERY hard to remove the overflow. Better just to get a new tank.

Removing the overflow itself is not all that hard once you drain the tank down below the level of the bulkheads inside the overflow. Obviously if your overflow goes all the way to the bottom of the tank and the bulkheads are in the bottom glass then you have even more to remove from the tank to be able to remove the overflow.

Now you have to consider the placement of your bulkhead holes. You are wanting to MOVE your overflow over in one direction but will you still be able to use the pre-existing holes or are you going to have to redrill new holes in the new location.

It might actually be easier to start finding things to complain about with the 90g in hopes that your wife will suggest that you switch your tank out. Making her think it was her idea is the goal here.
