Weird worms

Hey so i got worms... haha um ive had my 30gal going for about 4 months now everythings going great except ive noticed that in a patch of live sand theres probly 5 that i can see little just under a centimeter long worm looking things crawlin around. Are they bad? will my hermit crabs, emerald crab or cleaner shrimp eat em or do i need to do anything to get rid of the things?

More than likely bristle worms, harmless.

Pictures to confirm.

The worms are much more valuable to your tank than any crab. Your crabs may keep the population down which is bad for your tank. Assuming you don't have something unusual, these worms will eat detritus and let your pod population thrive. I'll never understand why the first thing hobbyists are advised to do is to buy a bunch of crabs and no one says cherish your worms and pods.

They are very beneficial to your system. You'll hear the term "established tank" thrown around a lot. Let those animals thrive and reach an equilibrium without predation.

yeah need pictures but bristle worms are good, just don't touch them. they are detrius eaters. i dont think the crabs will eat them some shrimps will though.

Crabs are indiscriminate about what they eat. Remember worms don't start out as grownups, they are reproducing in your tank.
