does any one clean the over flow box?

I cleaned mine for the first timet his weekend. It was hard to see to the bottom of it, but using the standard siphon I pulled out quite a bit of gunk.

I always do, alot of "junk" sits in there and rots!

My overflow box is rather small so I tend to clean it once every week.

Mine is a custom built overflow, hole drilled in back of tank instead of the bottom so the overflow is only 4 inches deep. I do clean off some of the slime that grows in it thats about it. Flow is high through it and being shallow everything ends up in the sump as it should for the skimmer to remove it.
