AquaticLife Nano 115 Skimmer

My 29 gal. tank has completed its cycle and currently have diatoms. I have put the aquaticlife 115 in to begin the breakin period. I am having a couple concerns because it is introducing a lot of micro bubbles to my tank. From what I have read that those should subside but they have not slowed down at all. I put a piece of filter floss in the front near the water return to help force the bubbles to rise. Any ideas to stop the bubbles?

It also has a obnoxious slurping noise from the air intake. Any way to quite that?
