LED Colors and Degree...can you help me out
Looking for a nice blueish effect but a real effect also on my tank. its a 12g nano 36" long x 9" High x 8" wide. I am ordered three PAR30 BoostLEDs and im looking for what color works best for the realest effect and to keep SPS. Also, what degree 40? 60? 80?

Order the PAR38's with half Royal Blue (460nm) and half cool white. This will give you good PAR as well as look good. 40 degree optics will give a spotlight effect especially since the PAR38 fixtures have the LED's so close to each other. typically, 80 degree will have a nicer even appearance but PUR will be less because the light will be spread out a lot. However in your case, since the tank is so shallow, PAR and PUR should not be a problem. 80 degree would probably be the better choice because you can place the lamps closer to the tank without spotlighting.

Boostled only makes 40 and 60 degree optics. I would use the 60s for your tank. I feel that the rapids seem to be brighter to the eye. I have not tested them with a PAR meter yet. The Boost 12Ks are closer to a 15 or 20K IMO and the 12K Rapids are 12K.
