so i dont want to spend alot of money and what i need is lighting that will allow me to get a anemone for my clown fish. and who knows mayb ecorals down the road but who knows. so the question is do i get
48 in. AquaticLife Dual Lamp T5 HO Marine Light Fixture - 2 x 54W or 48 in. Coralife Aqualight T5 HO Dual Lamp Light Fixture - 2 x 54W or 36-48 in. Marineland Double Bright LED Light - 16 x 1W white - 8 x .06W blue i have a 55 gal tank, and is there anything else i will need. the Coralife does not come with a fan it says, is this a problem? or if anyone else knows of any good deals let me know, these are both going for $130.00 Thoughts anyone? thanx Last edited by tada1096; 03/03/2011 at 09:59 PM. |

i dont know much about LED's so i wont comment there, but to me the first 2 t5 fixtures dont sound to me like enough lighting for a nem. if i were you i would try to save up money to get the best lighting you can so you dont have toworry about upgrading later down the road, i have a sebae nem in a 24" tall tank with 6 t5s that seems to be doing well, but i probably wouldnt have bought it if i had anything less

You could try aquatraders.com. They are like $100 for 4x54. They have bad reviews from their older light systems. From what I can find review wise that is newer is that the owners like them...

thanx ya im not sure what to think. 100 bucks thats cheep but the reviews are good. 4X54 that would be enough for a nem right?
i guess as long as the thing works it would be worth getting plus only a hundred how can you go wrong |

The first lights you mentioned are WAY underpowered for a nem.
