Bad Ballast

I recently installed a T5 retro fit on my 30gl long. I got 2 used icecap ballasts running 2X39w bulbs each, its the smaller ballasts I thinks its the 430 or 440 something like that anyway one of the ballasts doesn't come on anymore it just flickers for a second and then does nothing. I guess the ballast is bad and I need to replace it but I heard that Icecap is going out of business so are there any other good brands of ballasts that I can use to replace the bad one.

Yes, the ballast is fried, but it is a simple $75 repair that the folks who bought Icecap caqn do for you in about 3 days. I can't remember who.....coralvue? coral life? it is way to early to think. Someone else chime in with the correct name please?

Coral Vue...the previous leadership from IceCap is working there.

Now to the issue with your ballast. Do not assume it is fried. I had the same problem with my 660 and when I replaced both of my VHO 46.5" bulbs, the problem went away and the ballast was fine afterall.

Thanks, Steve

Well the thing is I have 2 ballasts running running 2 bulbs each and both sets of lights work on the other ballasts, and the day it went out I had to leave the country so I didn't have time to troubleshoot. I'll have to check out the harness connection on the ballast itself when I get back home because I made a custom hood and I had to plug and unlpug it a lot while I was fit testing everthing
