Hi Quara,I don't think we know exactly what you mean. They're pretty easy. Just put it where you want to and watch the flow. Then move it if you need to. You could look at the Ecotech forum under sponsors for great help. If you're more clear we'll try to help, OK?

I place my vortechs 1/3 down from top of tank on side.
The non grate part of the wet side faces up. I use lagoon mode on full.
