hermit crabs

I'm a big fan of hermits, but I know the bigger ones can cause trouble(electric orange/blue, halloween, etc). I was wondering would there be any problem keeping a few of these in a fuge?

I don't see why. The fuge is separate from your DT.

The downside is they will eat the beneficial microfauna in your fuge. Personally, I wouldn't do it.

You don't want those in a fuge, they are voracious algae eaters and will decimate any macro's that are typically kept in there. FWIW, the hermits you listed are some of the best algae eaters money can buy, they belong in the display where they are most beneficial. As long as you anchor frags down, they won't pose a problem.

I agree, crabs are not selective about what they eat.

However, if you have a crab that refuses meaty food, then it's probably safe. That was a joke, of course
