Controller advice. Should I spend $

On a local forum, there is a rk2 with ph, temp and an 8 outlet power strip for sale. Price seems reasonable (not that I know what it should be) so its on my radar. I have a very beginners understanding of controllers and I'm hoping your advice, opinions and experiences will sway me one way or the other. I have some questions.

Does it keep a record of ph and temp or does it jut show real time?

Are all 8 outlets controllable?

Are there known issues with this model?

This model is discontinued so what advances would the new model have?

Lastly, tell me what you have yours do, and what you like about it.

I have a RKL which controls 4 outlets with a temperature probe that cuts my lights off if my tank temp gets too high $100 brand new. I have no idea why I waited for something that is a must and should of bought years ago. Call DA and see if they will let you upgrade the RK2 to an RKE and if what you may get will work with the RKE?

The new version is $100 new.

The RK2 had one bug with it AFAIK. Basically some units will loose control of the power strip. Leaving one of the channels always on fixes the bug. It should be considered to only have 7 switching outlets due to leaving on always on.

It does not log ph but does real time measurements.
