I had some carbon spill in my refugium

Maybe about a fourth a cup. It's been in there 3 years, but the tank has been running fallow during that time. Do I need to try and pick that stuff out of there? Will it harm anything?

Could maybe siphon it out. But I don't think it would be harmful at all if left in there. It has probably effectively become livesand.

Marie, I'd recommend that you buy a rare carbon-eating snail that will effectively pick up and ingest every last bit of the spilled stuff. I have one for sale at $199.95. It looks a lot like a regular Turbo Snail, but it's not.

Just thought I'd ask - it looks ridiculous.

Its fine it just becomes a part of your biological filtration. It may leech some phosphate overtime, but im sure it will be very minimal.
