Stress Coat?

I've got a big jug of this left over from my freshwater days. I only bought it about a year ago. I always put a few spoonfuls in after a water change.

Is this something I should put in a reef tank or should I give it away?

I wouldn't use it in the reef tank just because of the protein skimmer. I bought the marine version of stress coat and it specifically says formulated to work with a protein skimmer. My guess is the freshwater one will foam really bad. I don't think most people use it though as I never see it mentioned... but I still do! if anything it helps restore the slime coat.

I agree. Stress coat is full of unwanted fillers.

It contains (concentrated) aloe vera, which is the main ingredient, and probably the only good thing in the bottle. The rest is mostly dechlorinated tap water.
