250w se ballast
I want to know why my Vosloo Scwabe 250w Magnetic ballast running a Aquamedic de bulb so dull. I have another bulb on an electronic ballast and is far brighter. I read that the magnetic ballast far brighter and higher par compared to the electronic ballast. Is my wiring wrong or maybe type igniter me using? The pendant I have is the Aquamedic Sunlight 2x250w, 4x54w t5.

Never heard of that brand. Do you know if it's a probe or pulse (M58/M80)? If it's a "SE" ballast like in the description (M58), they aren't meant to run DE bulbs and underdrive them supplying less wattage to the bulb than designed. In turn, they run dim and the colors are off. To run at spec, DE bulbs require an "HQI" ballast (M80/HQI). Some electronics or "selectable" (like the galaxy/lumatek adjustable) will do a decent job as well.
