which reef ready tank?

Hey guys. This weekend is the big weekend. I'm going to purchase my 75 gal reef ready tank. I got a quote from my lfs for $250. Is this a decent price? What I didn't anticipate was the owner asking if i have a preferred brand. what are the brands? And their differences? I think I want one with a corner overflow just because it looks better in my opinion. What do u guys think?

You are at the right place to get info on this hobby. I cant answer your Question on which brand is better. I cant advise you not to ask your LFS that Q he will sell you the one that he will make the most $ on, IMO.
I myself would also go with the corner overflow. No other reason than looks. I would also buy a tank deeper than 18" (front to back), again for looks and more room for rock work and flow.
Good luck.

I don't think they make a factory 75 gallon that is deeper than 18 in. Marineland is a good brand of tank as well as perfecto. I would stay away from AGA ( all glass aquariums ) but that's just my personal opinion. Take it with a grain of salt.

What's wrong with AGA? I have one from 1996 and it's still holding water

On another note, I'd go marineland if I had a choice for a brand spanking new one

How much is the regular tank, not reef-ready?

If I were listing brands...Oceanic, Marineland, and AGA. Oceanic being the Mercedes and AGA being the Chevrolet, if you will.

They are all going to hold water.

Can't really get oceanic tanks anymore excluding the biocubes. Marineland or Aqueon, not much difference in a 75.

Do they all have the same warranty? If so I doubt it will matter which name you get on the glass.

yeah most have a good warranty if it's a large tank. I think a 10 gallon is still 1 year or something like that.

Totally disagree. Marineland quality has gone downhill from what I've seen and heard. I'm very happy with my AGA 75 gallon RR tank.
