Bartlett's Anthias
Hello everyone,
think about picking up a Bartlett's Anthias. I have a three month establised 65 gallon tank with plenty of live rock, corals, clown, pajama cardinal, blue damsel and a three strip damsel. is the Bartlett's Anthias a good fit? thank you |

You should get at least two. They are a good fit, very active. They may bicker between themselves to see who may become a male or dominant female. Three months is long enough for them to thrive. Watch out for the damsel, the one you have will become overly aggressive.

Thanks RJT,
I'm going to pick em up after work. my blue damsel actually is pretty mellow the little three stripe is a pest. The three stripe may be taking a trip back to the fish store. |

Please do some more research on them
They are close to 4in full.. one should not be in a tank less than 70g.. 2 is def pushing it.. IMHO Damsels can be very aggressive.. and may even attack a new fish.. check out this thread to get more, experienced answer to your question http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh...45390&page=170 Happy Reefing!!

I was thinking the same thing. your tank might not have enough swimming room for them. my anthias swim constantly until bedtime. They are also pretty timid fish so the damsels might bully them into hiding. they also have to be fed small amounts multiple times a day.

You can't just keep 2 anthias, they will constantly fight. You either get just 1 or atleast 3. they are fine by themselves or as a big group.
