i like my jbj set up.... they had a special at marinedepot for like $80 not sure if its still running... but good set up and ive used it on my previous 180g tank and now my 25g tank with no issues just run a small pump in a container of FW and then some clear hosing to the sump and thats it the float activates it to turn on and off as needed

Tunze osmolator 3155, Kind of pricey, but I absolutely love it. One of the best components I've bought for my reef tank. You won't be disappointed, money well spent.

+1, I would say it's one of the better investments.

I used on from Auotopoff.com. I got the one with the bracket and back-up float to turn the water flow off in case the primary one fails. Has worked great. I just have it connected to a maxijet 400 powerhead.

I like my JBJ ATO. Inexpensive, easy and reliable as any other. JMO

+1. Best investment I've made in re hobby. I've owned Tunze and JBJ as well and they don't hold a candle to the Elos digital unit.

I have had the Tunze and now use a RKL . The Tunze is very accurate . A calcium dispenser can be added for kalk .
The RKL works fine for ATO . I use LFS jug , a eco pump to .5 inch black pond tubing connected to a zoo-med mag clip for the tube .
U will have to get the ATO kit and a SL1 for the top off and use channel 1 or 4 . Something about SS devices ..
If u go the RKL route I was trying to save u a headache ... when the ato doesn't work .

Smile Re: Diy ato

I've just ordered a float switch from ebay, use some old acrylic sheet to make a bracket to hold the switch and couple of suction cups then a container from k-mart as reservoir a power head for my ato if you do not mind to make these yourself. JC.

Aqua Lifter with a JBJ would work fine. I prefer my DA ATO, since I have a RK Elite and Lite.
