sooo annoying...ugh!

I hate doing water changes...REALLY hate it! But it needs to be done again...so I go downstairs to grab some fresh saltwater and an empty 5 gallon bucket to drain some off my tank AND...

MY KORALIA 2 isn't churning my water

Delay of game is never good.

Ok venting over

A water change lugging 5 gallon buckets around the house in a split foyer so I have to go up stairs trying not to spill! I hate that part. I hate occasionally splashing/dripping on the carpet. I do have plans to eventually run a hose up through the floor and getting a mega pump to pump the water up from downstairs so I don't have to carry anymore. Also, I'm a chic...not as much upper body strength as guys usually have and I'm only 5ft tall and lifting as high as my shoulder isn't easy for me when it's almost 40lbs.

I don't mind using the scraper and magfloat, changing out media etc. I just hate the actual water change.

And I love my fishies

If its upstairs in a room with a window just get a hose and run it through the tank out the window in a bucket.

Lightbulb water changes?

Try to make you water changes as easy as possible so you won't mind doing them...My tanks are close to a sink in the kitchen and dining room wall . So when I drain the water I use a 1 inch diameter 4 foot long hose and put it right in the kitchen sink. I also use Natural Sea Water from Boyton Beach Inlet collected at high tide. No mixing and endless supply..................... .My friend drains his tank water out the window into his hedges and they are growing better now. Plus my fish and corals love the fresh water, Happy Reefing!!!!

When I set up my larger tank I will have a hose running up through the floor w/a mega pump on the other end Right now I just have a 29g and a 10g but I just got done running prazi on my purple tang in QT so need to do a larger water change.

It was just frustrating that when I went to do it, the darn it from hell Koralia had quit working at some point. I'm going to let it mix for 2 hrs(just to be safe) and then do a water change. I have had the K2 not start up before, but never just quit working while in use.

oooo fibro isn't good. I could look at it this way... I haven't fallen over with a full bucket yet

We will have fun! I don't like the pack up and unpacking since there are 5 of us, but getting there, hanging out, boating and fishing are all fun! As well as the campfires, s'mores and dough boys

Water changes never annoyed me because... I never change water LOL. I'm the laziest guy in the hobby so... I may change water if some corals give bad signs but almost 4 months my corals and fish are doing fine.
Don't harass me because of how lazy I'm, I will change water in a few more months hihi.

I have a split level also. As I'm getting older, I'm having a really hard time carrying that 5 gallon bucket, it's only going to get worse .

Time to put that little hole in your floor to put the hose through so you can pump it from the basement

if you put the 5 gallon bucket lid on, it will prevent spilling while you are carrying the bucket.
not sure if you can do monthly water changes on a 29 gallon, if you can, that will reduce the amount of times you need to lug the bucket of water.

I have a purple tang in QT in there. I won't do it monthly because of that. Soon I'll move it to a 75 QT. Was going to move it....but found damp carpet in the basement so putting that tank up had to wait.

It's just a bigger pita this time due to the after prazipro water change. A bit more water this time. I'm not lazy either! Heck I've been digging dirt in yard for the last 2 days...which were the hottest days this summer at 99 the first day. yep I'm crazy. Enough dirt was dug for about 3.5 wheelbarrow loads.

IMO Strap the 5g bucket to the dog in your avatar and make it carry the water up the steps.

It's not the water changes that I hate, it's the filter socks and skimmer that I absolutely hate to change/clean!

A request for a hole in the floor would be about the time Husband no longer supports my hobby

awe it's just a little whole. Do it right behind your tank where it won't be noticed. Or you could make him life your water Better idea yet. I ask mine to do it when he's home...but I work evenings and he works days.
