overflow box really loud?

The siphon was hard enough to get going, but now that its siphoning its making this terrible gargling sound. any idea how to get it to be quieter?

ur drain pipe is it pvc or flex. makre sure there is no curves or bends in it. it should be straight from bulbhead to sump almost 90 degree straight and right to length no extra.

its pvc.

The black box in the tank is not completely submerged but I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be or not. I filled it up so that it was and all it did was add water level to my sump.

Just add that breather tube, as already mentioned. It will make for a good nights sleep.

Hofer Gurgle Buster, reverse durso and likely a ball valve after the output of your return. Your drain is sucking air down with it. If the drain is submerged in the sump the reverse durso will help vent this. This setup has worked very well for me.

Hofer Gurgle Buster, Is that English Greech? The Greech is correct but decorum (and the admins) prohibits me for mentioning products by name,

^^^+1 Just installed/made one last week made a big difference after a few days of running it has gotten quieter. It's really simple to make.
