aquaeuro usa 250

ok so im setting up my tank right now, its going to be a 90 gallon tank with 35 gallon sump.
ive actually bought a used aquaeuro usa 250, i just wanted to know if anyone has it and how well it is. another question is that it is rated for a 250 gallon tank so will i have any problems using it with a 90 gallon tank?

thanks

that really cant be good.. see because the problem is that i made the stand with the skimmer in it. Now i cant take the skimmer out unless i drain all of the 90 gallon tank and take apart my stand to take it out.. OH FUDGE!

can anyone tell me why its a bad idea to use an over capacity skimmer in a smaller tank?

You cant even get the cup out?? You should have thought far enough ahead to do that at least. As far as skimmers go your going to get 100 different answers some are going to say double you volume if you run a heavy bio load. Even a little more if your bio load is heavy and your going to have sps corals. And there is a possiblity that you can overskim.

What i would do is maybe plumb in a second 40g breeder tank to the sump or 2 if you have a place to do this.

No no I can take the cup out but the skimmer itself is tall and that will not come out. Let's see how it goes I might just have to take it out if anything.
Thanks

That skimmer is seriously overrated, and there isn't a chance in hell I would run that thing on a tank over 125. That said, it should do a fine job on a 90. It's ok if you can't get it out of your sump provided you can remove the collection cup and the pump.
