Feeding plate coral?
I picked up a long tentacle plate coral for my tank recently. The LFS rep suggested I feed it krill or mysis shrimp.
Ok, not a problem. Then I got home and took a really good look and now I'm wondering how I go about doing that. Do I just sprinkle some food all over its surface? I do I drop it all right in the center where there is a slit (is this the mouth)? |

Spot feed it, a couple mysis near it's mouth should be good. I usually mix some coral frenzy/reef-roids and baste it all over my coral

I use a syringe (the type you give a baby meds with) with a 1/4''hose stuck on the end of it. I am able to get the my mysis right down to its mouth. A little squirt and he grabs it.

yes the slit is the mouth. i target feed my corals with mysis and pellets. try your best to get the food to the mouth, but coral, (im assuming Fungia sp?) has tentacles that will grab and shove the food in its mouth
