CADLights LED...need more light?

ok, a little back story. i have a neighbor that has a salty tank too. we both keep our tanks pretty much the same, his is a 75g, mines a 41g. he has like 6978503w of MH, PC, and i think he has a small sun in there somewhere too. i have the new cadlights LED rig. my tank is 24 w and also 24 top to bottom. long story short, he has crazy growth, and well, my stuff is slow.

i had some par readings done, and they weren't too great. and i just got a clam from him that looks nice dark purple mantle with the brilliant blue highlights, and now i realize my clam is brown. and my zoas don't grow half as fast as his either.

i just feel like light is the main issue here.
my cadlights is only a 45w fixture, with 45 1 w leds. it gives great color, i'm just not sold on the intensity....

so...now to my point....sorry for the long post...

i have a three older fixtures that need new bulbs: a cadlights MH t5 combo, a giesemann 150w MH, and a current 4x24 T5 fixture.

i am debating on...buying bulbs for an old fixture, or gutting one fixture and using it for a DIY LED housing...or making some sort of LED hybrid out of the 4 bulb t5.

any input is appreciated. oh, it's mainly softies, some LPS, and 2 clams. and i know that the softies aren't supposed to care about light, but well, i think they do in my tank.
