Could you get 2 skimmers?

Starting up a new tank wondering if you can get 2 or more
Skimmers
That would be great thanks

You could, but it's generally going to be less expensive to just get one skimmer that's correctly sized to your tank than to get two (or more) smaller ones. Also, skimmers are big, and it will be easier to fit one larger one than several smaller ones.

If you already own a skimmer, but it's undersized for your new system, you may want to consider selling it and upgrading to a skimmer that's properly fitted to your system.

Although there's no problem having multible skimmers, it just takes up lots of realestate and not to mention that having multiple pumps for multiple skimmers in the water will increase your your tanks water temp as well as drain more electricity.

But if you're in a bind you can do it, however I would suggest it be temporary.

+1 to everything said so far... Do you already have a skimmer and just want another one to add to it all because it is undersized? If not, i would recommend just buying one large skimmer. It will be less space consumed, less maintanence, and not be drawing as much power.

You certainly can run two skimmers, it just seems silly since one proper sized unit will do the same
