Cortez stingray with a bloodshot eye
I have had my cortez stingray in my 55 gallon tank for 3 months now, which he was fine and happy in, last week I moved it into my 180 after it cycled. Shortly afterwards I added a porcupine puffer. They initially seemed fine together, although the puffer does seem very interested in the stingray, but after 2 days I noticed that my stingrays eye was red and possibly bleeding. This might be stupid question but is it the puffer?

The puffer may have gotten aggressive with the stingray.
When the puffer expanded it may have punctured the stingray's eyes, it'll heal over time. But the stingray may possibly, be blind in that eye. Do you have plenty of sand for the stingray and swimming space? It helps. Seeing how you have a 55g, it may be a bit stressful for even a small stingray. |
