Name this algae!

What kind of reddish brown algae is this growing on my sand? Tank is 1 month old.

- My tank completed it's initial cycle, as well as had a brown diatom bloom which covered the rock, sand and tank. Now green algae growing on rock.

- Added 5 Astrea's, 2 Nassarius's, and a Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp.
- Small spike/cycle took place as tank adjusted to bioload.
- All params have been steady zero's with nitrates at about 5-10ppm for a week.

Looks like diatom still. Your tank is going to go through alot of changes in the next few months... sit back and enjoy it. Dont worry, you should end up with coralline algae very soon.

Sweet, thanks. So like the other diatom bloom, it will just go away on it's own...correct?

Also, since params are stable, would you introduce a pair of clowns in about a week or so? Or wait longer?

could be a cyano, but in either case it should go away if the tank is relatively young.
