Two questions, marine magic doser settting and LED lighting.
hello everyone and tgif.
iv'e got a couple questions i hope someone here could help me out. i set up a tank with these dimensions.. 36" long x 30 Deep x 18 Tall. now, i have 2 evolution LED pendants that are 119 W and have single Watt leds with no optics.. i hung one pendent over the tank today and it seems like a lot of light. i have the hanging kit in place for the 2nd pendent and i am afraid of having to much light. the pendants are 12" long and i plan to keep mostly LPS with some SPS that i have already, but it will consist of only a few sps pieces. what do you think, one or 2 pendents? ill try and get some pictures if it helps? just LMK! next Question. to those of you using a marine magic dosing pump.. i am confused on the manual it came with. from what i understand you dose the amount of liquid you want and record the time it takes to dose that amount. then you punch in the time it take to dose that amount into the clock? is this right or am i way off? also what is the timer lock option for. it says it is a safe guard option almost to prevent over dosing or to keep the pump from running long periods of time.. any help on this one either? i have looked through the majority of the marine magic thread but that was b efore purchasing the unit.. ill take another look but i thought i'd try here as wel. any help you could give me would be awesome! thanks -Bill |

i can't help with the led's but as for the dosing pump. the timer lock is just a lock that turns on after so long so that you don't accidently bump it and change something.
as for setting the dosing time: 1: press cancel 4 times to get rid of the lock 2. press set and clock simultaneously, the letter b will show up on the screen. this allows you to dose in sec. instead of min. 3. press the min. to enter the amount of sec. to dose. ex. d = 10 means it will turn on for 10 sec. 4. press cancel to leave the b on the screen 5. press set, = : = = will appear, press cancel and you should see 0 : 0 0, then enter the time you want to start the dose. 6. press clock to return to the actual time and your set. make sure your on auto off and last this is how the first marine magic pumps work the one's with seperate times for each pump. not sure how the new versions work yet. I haven't got it ordered yet.

again, from what i understood from reading the manual you have to figure out how long it takes your doser on the speed you chose to dose x amount of solution. for me its 20 mL. you take that amount of time it took to dose the 20 mL and put that time frame in the auto clock. you can break down the amount dosed by how ever many dosings through out the day so you dont dump in 20 mL all at once and kill the pumps life span. that is all my understanding. im double checking it here from the people who have used them because the directions are somewhat spotty.. ![]() |
