supplement t5 with led

hey guys,

looking for some opinions, i have a 90 gallon standard tank with t5 setup. thinking about getting some led to supplement. should i get a 12 led retrofit kit from rapid and make my own extra bar of leds? or should i get one of thos par38 bulb jobs?

does the par 38 spotlight real bad? is 12 leds enough to help some of the more light demanding species?
