quiet, energy efficient pump?

my pump i have now is a blueline 40 hd x pump. it is extremely loud, and i am looking for a quieter pump. i was looking at the eheim 1262, but the problem is the inlet and outlet are in different places then my blue line pump is, and the outlet is smaller piping. so are there any pumps that are the same as blueline as for placement of the outlet and inlet on the pump, same size piping, and enough gph for 120 gallon aquarium? the outlet is on top and the inlet is on the side for my blueline pump that i have now..

can't say what'll matcht he inlet/outlet, but have you considered going with the vinyl pvc tubing with appropriate adapters for change in hose sizes? Little more flexible to work with. Not sure what your pump is pushing volume wise or if the vinyl tubing and clamps will be sufficient, was just a thought as i've ran across the same problem of hard plumbing and changing over to a different sized pump and had to re-do everything.

well if there is a pump with the same placement with the outlet and inlet it would be easier because i dont have alot of space between the piping. but if there isnt then i will use the vinyl tubing. as for the gph the pump i have now is pushing 1270 gph.
thanks
