Sand Sifting star, ok with my setup??
At the LFS they told me that this star was ok for shallow sand beds (My 55g has 20lbs of sand in it). Anyways I think there is a chance they were full of S*&t.
If this is the case how long do I have until it becomse a problem. What effect can they have on the life within the sand bed? It seems to be fine so far I have had it for around 3 weeks, it moves about and burries itself in diffrent locations. Thanks for the response If its to much of a problem to have I could always dry it out and put it in the ocean bathroom collection, lol.

I'm so sorry, but they should have at least a 100g footprint and a very mature tank. They can live for a long long time, slowly starving and dying of malnutrition. It can take a year or longer.
It will essentially eat all the life in your sandbed. And if you decide you don't want it, please complain to your LFS and demand your money back. That is the only way they will ever change.

I imagine because the odds of finding a proper home for it are very low. But I agree, it wouldn't hurt to try.
