lighting-which way do i go?

inhereted a 180g with a hamilton retrofit set 3x175wmh 2compact and 2lunars. I have two ballasts out and am wanting to replace the whole system. tank is standard 6x2x2. want good enough lighting so im not restricted on what i can keep. any suggestions appreciated. budget $500-$1100.

There's plenty of good T5 fixtures like the Tek light fixture.

i would look into leds if your budget is closer to 1100, of course, DIY leds that is. Not sure how many you would need, or if that price would cover it, but its worth a shot!

Want to run 250w and want to run t5 and the system is over 10 years old and not overly efficient.

If you want to get somehting for the coming years, definitely look at LED fixtures. They cost more to start, but save bundles on electricity and are simply much more controllable than previous systems. Plus, the 'bulbs' last for 10 years or so!
