Best Overflow Method

I am getting ready to setup a new tank. The question is what is the best method that makes the less amount of noise. Would like to have the quite's setup as possible.

Methods of choice:

1). Drilling the top back glass with two 1" holes, with a T and a extended pipe with capped end with a air tube.

2). Typical reef ready setup with the corner divider with a stand pipe on the inside. This setup is commonly seen.

Hope I explained everything well. My last tank used the first method and I had a little burping. Thanks

Best/Quietest method if you have the space for drilling holes is Herbie or Bean Animal. Herbie requires two drains, bean animal requires 3. Plus your return line.
